NEW YORK, Sept 24, 2018 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed on Monday Egypt's support for efforts exerted by the UN to maintain international peace and security.

Sisi made the pledge during his participation in the Nelson Mandela Peace Summit on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly.

Today's gathering provides a great opportunity to provide our children with better education and reduce the rate of unemployment among youth, the president said.

He further stressed the importance of protecting youth against the hazards of extremism and terrorism.

 

NEW YORK, Sept 24, 2018 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi is scheduled to meet Monday with members of the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU) and a number of US decision-makers.

The meetings will be held at Sisi’s residence in New York city, where he takes part in the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said.

CAIRO, Sept 23, 2018 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi issued a republican decree calling on parliament to convene on Tuesday, October 2, at 10 am (local time) to open the fourth convocation of the first legislative term.

The decree was published in the official gazette Sunday.

NEW YORK, Sept 21, 2018 (MENA) - Egyptian envoy to the United Nations Ambassador Mohamed Iddriss on Friday said that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will hold bilateral talks on the sidelines of the UNGA meetings that kicked off on Tuesday.

In statements, he indicated that president Sisi will hold talks with US President Donald Trump along with other senior officials taking part in the UN meetings.

The president will also deliver Egypt's speech at all events of the meetings including at the UN general session, he pointed out.

All bilateral meetings that will be held by the president or Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will take up issues of common concern with other countries along with regional and international issues of joint interest, he added.

 

CAIRO, Sept 21, 2018 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi left here on Friday for New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly meetings.

According to Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi, the president will deliver Egypt's speech at the UNGA meetings taking up the Egyptian vision for enhancing the role of the UN and Egypt's stances on regional and international conditions along with its efforts for fighting international terrorism.

CAIRO, Sept 21, 2018 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will head on Friday for New York to take part in the United Nations General Assembly sessions, said Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi.

In press statements earlier on Friday, he added that the president will deliver Egypt's speech at the UN taking up the Egyptian vision for enhancing the UN's role along with the Egyptian stance on the regional and international conditions.

The president will also explain Egypt's vision for preserving international peace and security and its efforts for fighting international terrorism, added the spokesman.

The schedule of the president in New York includes holding several bilateral meetings with heads of state and government, who aretaking part in the UN meetings, the spokesman pointed out.

The talks will also take up means of boosting relations between Egypt and other world countries, added the spokesman.
