NEW YORK, Sept 24, 2018 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi expressed Egypt's keenness on the security and stability of all Arab countries and rejection of foreign interference in their domestic affairs.
In a meeting with Lebanese President Michel Aoun on the sidelines of the UN general Assembly meetings here, Sisi reiterated Egypt's support for Lebanon to face all forms of sectarian and religious extremism.
Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said the president praised the historical relations binding Egypt and Lebanon, expressing Cairo's keenness on pursuing cooperation and coordination with Lebanon on other regional issues.
For his part, the Lebanese president praised Egypt's efforts to achieve stability, peace and development in the region and also hailed Egypt's support for the security and stability of Lebanon.
CAIRO, Sept 24 , 2018 (MENA) - The Armed Forces men were the shield and sword of the nation in confronting terror, the Defence Minister General Mohamed Zaki said.
During a meeting with a number of Armed Forces fighters, officers and soldiers, at the central military zone, General Zaki called on the Armed Forces personnel to be always ready and to maintain the highest standards of efficiency at all times.
The meeting started with observing a moment of silence in honour of the Armed Forces martyrs for their sacrifices to the homeland.
Zaki reviewed a number of issues related to the Armed Forces' efforts to protect the national security and praised the success of Operation Sinai 2018 in combating terrorism at all strategic axes.
The Armed Forces men are part and parcel of the Egyptian people and they work as one in defending the homeland security and stability, he added.
NEW YORK, Sept 24, 2018 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed on Monday Egypt's support for efforts exerted by the UN to maintain international peace and security.
Sisi made the pledge during his participation in the Nelson Mandela Peace Summit on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly.
Today's gathering provides a great opportunity to provide our children with better education and reduce the rate of unemployment among youth, the president said.
He further stressed the importance of protecting youth against the hazards of extremism and terrorism.
CAIRO, Sept 24 , 2018(MENA) - Exports of the readymade garments sector increased to $907 million during the first seven months of 2018 compared to $824 million in 2017 with an increase of 10%, the Readymade Garments Export Council Of Egypt (RMGEC) said in a report on Monday.
The council said that it targets achieving exports worth $1.7 billion in 2018 with an increase rate of 15 per cent compared to last year.
The US comes at the top of countries importing readymade garments from Egypt with exports to its market reaching $480 million, RMGEC said. Europe followed by $306 million's worth of imports, it added.
KHARTOUM, Sept 24 , 2018(MENA) - Sudanese President Mohamed Omar Al Bashir granted on Monday The Order of the Two Niles to Egypt's Ambassador in Khartoum Osama Shaltout in recognition of his efforts to boost bilateral ties.
Bashir, during his meeting with Shaltout at the presidential palace in Khartoum, stressed the strength of relations binding the two countries, adding that Sudan is keen on fostering them to achieve the two peoples' interests.
In statements to MENA, the ambassador, on the occasion of end of his diplomatic tenure, thanked the Sudanese presidency and government, particularly the Sudanese Foreign Ministry for their co-operation which facilitated carrying out his duties.
The two countries' leaders were eager to enhance the bilateral ties through upgrading the joint ministerial committee to higher committee at the presidential level, the diplomat said, pointed out to holding 23 summits between President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Al Bashir.
The meeting touched on the great role played by the roads and river transport in strengthening the ties, he noted.
