CAIRO, July 18, 2018 - Egypt's giant Zamalek have confirmed the signing of Petrojet promising defender Mohamed Abdel-Salam for a reported fee of LE4.5m.

Abdel-Salam has agreed to move to the White citadel and put pen to paper on a five-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2022.

The Whites wanted to strengthen their defensive area following the departure of Ali Gabr, Mohamed Magdy, and Islam Gamal to Pyramids, Ismaily, and Tala’a El-Gaish respectively.

Abdel-Salam is a product of Wadi Degla’s youth academy before making the move to Petrojet in 2016, playing two seasons for the petroleum club.

He made only nine appearances during his time at Petrojet, with eight of the nine coming in second-half of last season. He also managed to score two goals against Ittihad of Alexandria and Entag El-Harby.
