“Time for Apples from Europe” unique apples for unique children
As a part of “Time for Apples from Europe” campaign charity events, a celebration of orphan children was held in Cairo, in May 2018.
The two-year “Time for Apples from Europe” campaign is conducted by the Association of Polish Fruit Growers (APFG), and co-financed by European Union and Fruit and Vegetable Promotion Fund. It is targeting the Egyptian and Algerian markets, aiming at promoting European apples, and broadening knowledge of the benefits of EU agricultural products and the high standards followed in EU production methods among target groups of apple consumers, distributors and importers.
Children under the care of Gannat Alkhouloud Association for Human Development in Duwaiqa participated in this event. The celebration was attended by the Chairperson of the Board of Directors, Dr Zeinab Alloub, a number of art and media stars including the artist & Actor/ Edward who presented the event programme and representatives of the Polish Embassy in Egypt. As part of the event, apples and juices were delivered to the orphanages and gifts were given to more than 500 needy children.
As a part of the campaign, there will be also induction and promotional activities including meetings with many Egyptian entrepreneurs and experts in the food, fruit, and vegetable industry aiming to exchange expertise about modern methods of growing apples and establishment of Polish-Egyptian co-operation. These activities also include integrated programme of participation in annual industry events, exhibitions and specialised conferences.
