RAMALLAH, June 23, 2018 (MENA) - A Palestinian youth was injured in his leg as Israeli occupation forces opened fire against him at Al Container checkpoint, northeastern Bethlehem.
The occupation forces prevented Red Crescent paramedics from offering assistance to the injured youth, Palestinian sources said on Saturday.
Israeli police claimed, in a statement, that a suspect carrying suspicious object approached the corridor dedicated to vehicles at Al Container checkpoint.
RAMALLAH, June 22, 2018 (MENA) - A Palestinian youth was wounded by Israeli army's rubber bullets during clashes in south of the West Bank, a Palestinian security source said on Friday.
According to the source, the clashes erupted earlier in the day after Israeli occupation forces raided Dheisheh refugee camp in southern Bethlehem, where they fired rubber bullets, sound bombs and tear gas.
The forces also arrested a Palestinian young man at the refugee camp after storming his home, he added.
TEL AVIV, June 21, 2018 (News Wires) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's wife Sara was charged Thursday with fraud and breach of trust after a lengthy probe into allegations she misused state funds to claim for delivery meals costing $100,000.
The move represents the latest legal headache for Netanyahu and his family, as the authorities investigate the combative leader over allegations of corruption in a string of eye-catching cases.
The justice ministry announced that "the Jerusalem district prosecutor... filed charges against the prime minister's wife".
The ministry said Sara Netanyahu, who turns 60 in November, was accused of falsely declaring there were no cooks available at the premier's official residence and ordering "hundreds of meals from outside caterers at public expense".
From 2010 to 2013 Netanyahu, her family and guests received "fraudulently from the state hundreds of prepared meals (each including a number of courses) to the value of 359,000 shekels ($99,700)", the indictment read.
Netanyahu, a high-profile presence at her husband's side throughout his lengthy time at the helm, has denied any wrongdoing.
GAZA CITY, June 20, 2018 (News Wires) - Israeli jets struck 25 Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip in the early hours of Wednesday, leaving behind a number of Palestinians injured.
Two Hamas security men were lightly hurt in one air strike in the southern Gaza Strip, residents said.
Eyewitnesses said Israeli warjets shelled three posts in eastern and western Rafah. Israel also shelled posts in Khan Younis, Sheikh Ajlin district in Gaza City, eastern Wusta governorate in Gaza City and Beit Lahia.
Hamas had earlier launched rockets at Israeli territory. Air raid sirens and Israeli phone warning applications sounded throughout the pre-dawn hours.
The Israeli military said its Iron Dome anti-missile shield intercepted seven rockets.
In recent weeks, Palestinians have sent kites dangling coal embers or burning rags across the Gaza border to set fire to arid farmland and forests, others have carried small explosive devices in a new tactic that has caused extensive damage.
At least 127 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli troops during mass demonstrations along the Gaza border since March 30 and the men sending the kites over the fence believe they have found an effective new weapon.
RAMALLAH, June 19, 2018 (MENA) - Mufti of Al Quds Sheikh Mohammed Hussein on Tuesday called for adopting a prompt action to protect Al Aqsa Mosque against the Israeli occupation practices.
In a released statement, he described the Israeli practices as posing real danger to the mosque.
He condemned storming the mosque by Israeli police and allowing settlers to desecrate the holy site by conducting marriage rituals inside it while preventing Muslims from praying there.
These Israeli practices are taking place while the US administration is adopting a racist policy against the Palestinians through supporting the Israeli occupation, he pointed out.
He urged the Arab and Muslim peoples and their leaders to intervene for stopping these dangerous Israeli acts against the mosque and the holy city of Al Quds.
GAZA CITY, June 19, 2018 (MENA) - Israeli forces opened fire on Tuesday at a group of shepherds east of Deir al Balah in the Central Gaza Strip.
Eyewitnesses said the shooting took place near Kissufim military post.
Israeli forces also opened fire at a number of Palestinian youths who approached the military gate east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.
