CAIRO, June 19, 2018 (MENA) - House of Representatives Secretary General Ahmed Saadeddin Tuesday denied reports on some news websites that a number of Egypt's Parliament members visited Russia to attend World Cup matches at the expense of the Parliament.

A statement released by Saadeddin denied such reports, saying a number of MPs traveled to Russia at their own expenses and the House has nothing to do with it.

The House's statutes do not approve this at all, he said, calling on everyone to verify news before publishing any stories.

KAZAN, Russia, June 19, 2018 (News Wires) - World Cup hosts Russia faces an Egypt side buoyed by the likely return of star man Mohamed Salah on Tuesday knowing a win will all but guarantee a place in the last 16.

Liverpool wizard Salah missed his team's defeat to Uruguay last Friday as he struggles to recover from the shoulder injury sustained during last month's UEFA Champions League Final.

Salah's shoulder has continued to cause him problems in Russia, and last weekend he needed the help of three team-mates to put a shirt on during a training session.

However the 26-year-old is desperate to start in what is a must-win game on Tuesday for the Pharoahs, who are playing in the World Cup for the first time since 1990.

Russia coach Stanislav Cherchesov was bullish ahead of the match in Saint Petersburg that his team can rein in the explosive striker.

"We know how to play against him," he said. "We are ready to stop Salah and we will."

Russia got the 2018 World Cup off to the perfect start Thursday with a 5-0 thrashing of Saudi Arabia.

Salah, already a national hero after his 94th-minute penalty clinched a 2-1 win over Congo to send Egypt to their first World Cup since 1990, has been declared 100 percent fit by the team doctor.

MOSCOW, June 19, 2018 (News Wires) - The Saudi Arabian Football Federation said that its national soccer team landed safely in the Russian city of Rostov after what it described as a minor technical fault in one of the engines.

Videos shared on social media appeared to show an aircraft that posters identified as the Saudi team's plane with its wing on fire while it was in the air.

"All the Saudi national team players are safe, after a technical failure in one of the airplane engines that has just landed," the federation said a statement on Twitter late Monday.

MOSCOW, June 19, 2018 (MENA) - Egyptian and Liverpool player Mohamed Salah sent a message to Egyptian fans, saying he is ready for Egypt's second group match against Russia in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Salah uploaded a video on his instagram account, saying: "You might think the pressure of all these people on me to score would form a load that could destroy any player," adding that he does not see it this way, stressing those people are the source of his strength and creativity and are not a load on him.

He said when he goes down the field they are with him and this makes him 100 million times stronger.

Egypt was defeated 1-0 by Uruguay in its first match of group A of the world cup, while Saudi Arabia lost 5-0 to host Russia.

Salah is expected to play the match between Egypt and Russia on Tuesday.
