MARSA MATROUH, Egypt, July 12 , 2018 (MENA) - Eight people were killed and 17 others injured after a bus collided with a truck on Alexandria-Matrouh highway.
Marsa Matrouh security chief Hisham Nasr was notified by Ras el-Hikma Hospital for Emergency and Relief that the hospital had received the bodies of eight victims along with 27 persons who were wounded in the accident.
The prosecution was notified to start investigations into the accident.
CAIRO, June 22, 2018 (MENA) – Egypt's Defense Minister Mohamed Zaki approved the formation of a committee to settle the military service status of Marsa Matrouh residents, whose age surpassed 30.
The committee will consider their military status on a case-by-case basis during the period from June 23 till 28.
Afterwards, it will issue them their final military status certificates.
The formation of the committee comes as part of ongoing efforts by the defense ministry to provide all facilities to and ease the burden on the residents of border and remote areas.
All Egyptian males aged 18 to 30 must perform mandatory military service except for certain cases.
Cairo, March 1, 201 - The Ambassador of the European Union in Cairo, Ivan Surkos, commented on Thursday on the New Alamain City development project, which was inaugurated by Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi earlier in the day.
Mr Surkos tweeted expressing honour for the European Union’s contribution to the project for clearing Marsa Matrouh and Alamain, north west Egypt, of mines and explosive remnants of World War II, saying that such project helped develop the area.
