CAIRO, August 3, 2018 (MENA) – Egyptian Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad discussed with Kazakh Ambassador to Egypt Arman Issagaliyev means of activating bilateral cooperation in the environmental field.

Fouad welcomed broadening cooperation between Egypt and Kazakhstan in the environment field and urged that a working team be formed to draw up mutual interests, priorities of cooperation in addition to a mechanism for exchanging relevant expertise, the Ministry of Environment said in a statement Friday.

The statement noted that a memorandum of understanding is set to be signed by the ministries of environment in both countries.

Meanwhile, the Kazakh ambassador highlighted the importance of Cairo’s regional and international role in various fields, particularly with regard to environment.

CAIRO, July 4, 2018 (MENA) - The Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) and Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA) inked a memorandum of understanding on co-operation and consultations in the field of non-banking financial activities of insurance and capital market.

Chairman of the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) Mohammed Omran and AFSA CEO Stephen Glynn inked the MoU which comes as part of the activities of launching Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC).

In a statement of FRA on Wednesday, Omran said that both sides expressed their desire in monitoring and regulating the transborder activities of the capital market and the insurance sector on the basis of mutual confidence and understanding.

Orman lauded the rate of growth of the green economy in Astana, adding that Egypt would be benefiting from Astana's experience in that field.

The MoU aims at boosting financial performance in both countries.

The Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA) was launched on 1 January 2018 as the independent regulator of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC). 

CAIRO, July 3, 2018 (MENA) - Chairman of the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) Mohamed Omran said Egypt's New Administrative Capital can set an example that can be emulated in other green cities around the world.

He called for mobilizing efforts for encouraging eco-friendly projects, decreasing thermal emissions and increasing greenery in residential areas.

This came on Tuesday during Omran's participation in the activities of the inaugural session of Astana conference for sustainable financing held for two days in Kazakhstan.

According to a press statement by the authority, Omran urged the governments of the emerging economies to adopt green economy systems.

He underlined the importance of the role played by stock markets and non-banking financial activities in mobilizing savings and making perfect use of available resources to achieve green and sustainable development.

Omran will ink, on the sidelines of the event, a memorandum of understanding between the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) of Egypt and Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA) to promote cooperation and exchange of know-how.

The Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA) was launched on 1 January 2018 as the independent regulator of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC).

AFSA is a regulator of both financial and non-financial services activities. It regulates Centre Participants carrying out financial and ancillary services and capital markets activities within the territory of AIFC. AFSA is also the regulator of companies registered
by the AFSA that carry out non-financial services activities.

CAIRO, June 30, 2018 (MENA) - Egypt's Local Development Minister Mahmoud Shaarawy met on Saturday at his office here with Kazakh Ambassador in Cairo Arman Isagaliev.

They discussed spheres of cooperation between Egypt and Kazakhstan in various domains, in light of the historical ties binding both countries, mainly in local governance domain, due to the Kazakh prominent experience in setting up new cities.

Kazakhstan is celebrating the 20th anniversary of launching its administrative capital “Astana”.

Shaarawy underscored the importance of exchanging expertise between both sides, and benefiting from Kazakhstan’s experience while implementing the Egyptian new administrative capital that is set to cope with the highest international standards.

CAIRO, June 12, 2018 (MENA) - President of Cairo University Mohamed Osman El Khosht met on Tuesday with Kazakh Ambassador in Cairo Arman Isagaliev.

The meeting tackled ways of boosting cooperation between Cairo University and the universities in Kazakhstan.

Khosht said that the university welcomes cooperation with Kazakhstan in the educational and research fields as well as cultural exchange, stressing the depth of ties between Egypt and Kazakhstan.

He pointed out that Cairo University seeks to cooperate with research entities in Kazakhstan in the agricultural, industrial and energy domains.

Meanwhile, Isagaliev asserted the historic relations between the two countries, adding that Egypt is a strategic and main partner for Kazakhstan.

He said that he is looking forward to further cooperation with Egypt in the educational and research fields, adding that his country has unique specializations in the space studies.

CAIRO, April 25, 2018 - Egypt's Minister of Tourism Rania El-Mashat held a meeting on Wednesday with representatives of Kazakhstan’s tour operators to discuss ways of increasing tourist flights between  Egypt and Kazakhstan.

The meeting was attended by Red Sea governor Ahmed Abdullah and South Sinai governor Khaled Fouda. It followed Egypt’s participation in the Kazakhstan International Exhibition “Tourism and Travel” – KITF which was held in Almaty from April 18 to 20.

Minister El-Mashat told a press conference that the Kazakhstan market was one of the most promising markets for Egypt.

Kazakhstan’s tour operator representatives said that there were 19 tourist flights between the two countries every week. They added that they were ready to increase the flights from the Red sea destinations, such as Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada, to Almay and Astana and vice versa.
