The total amount of dry onions exported in 2017 stood at about 15,000 tons, the Council said. It added that the Netherlands was one of main countries importing Egypt’s dry onions in 2017 with total imports worth $15.3 million. The Netherlands is followed by Germany, Japan, Brazil, Côte d'Ivoire, Croatia and Belgium with total imports worth $5.1 million, $4.7 million, $1.2 million, $1.1 million, $1 million and $1 million, respectively, according to the Council’s data.

The Council said that Egypt’s success in exporting onions confirmed that the rest of the world had confidence in Egyptian food products.
