CAIRO, June 4, 2018 (MENA) - Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Antiquities (SCA) Moustafa Wazeri will head for Italy on Tuesday in order to examine the suspected Egyptian artifacts seized in the Italian city of Naples.

The visit comes in line with a decision by the general prosecution to assign the Antiquities Ministry to take all needed measures pertaining to delegating Egyptian experts to examine the seized relics.

In statements on Monday, Wazeri underlined that the ministry coordinated with the Italian side in this regard, adding that a comprehensive detailed report will be prepared after examining the antiquities.

The report will be submitted to the antiquities minister then to the general prosecution, he noted, adding that the ministry cooperates with all bodies concerned to retrieve the relics.

Earlier, the Italian authorities said containers grouping artifacts belonging to various civilizations were seized including 118 Egyptian relics.
