Petroleum min. stresses PLP role in upgrading oil sector
CAIRO, July 17, 2018 (MENA) - Egyptian Petroleum Minister Tareq el Molla had an expanded meeting on Tuesday with graduates of the first and second batches of the Presidential Leadership Program (PLP).
The meeting falls within the ministry's keenness on shoring up the youth role in implementing ongoing projects to modernize the oil and gas sector.
A press statement by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources cited him as saying that upgrading the petroleum sector aims at getting maximum economic benefit from Egypt's natural resources.
He stressed that qualified youth will play a key role in developing the petroleum sector via applying the Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) system; an integrated management of core business processes, often in real-time and mediated by software and technology.
He underlined the role played by youth to carry out the "Upstream Gateway Project" which has the scalability to support the digitization of Egypt’s midstream and downstream oil and gas sector.
The project is aligned to the Petroleum Ministry's future vision in making Egypt’s oil and gas sector an attractive investment destination and a hub to serve the region, he noted.
