CAIRO, August 16, 2018 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi issued on Thursday a decree extending the tenure of Mohab Mamish as the Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) for one additional year as of August 12, 2018.

The decree also extends the tenure of Mamish as the Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) for one year.

The decree was published in the Official Gazette.

CAIRO, August 16, 2018 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi issued a decree approving a US grant for supporting comprehensive water solutions and water security as well as improving water sanitation services across Egypt.

Under the deal, signed on September 26, 2017, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will extend to Egypt a grant worth about LE50.874 million to improve its fresh water and sanitation systems.

The president also allocated two pieces of state-owned land in the Upper Egypt governorates of Menya and Beni Suef to the New Urban Communities Authority to build two new housing complexes: New Fashn and New Malawi.

The president also approved re-allocating 9,494 feddans of state-owned land in South Sinai's Ras Sedr to the Armed Forces.

BENI SUEF, August 15, 2018 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed on Wednesday that the government is keen on securing the needs of the local market and reducing Egypt's import bill.

Producing needed products will save hard currency and, hence, contribute to currency stability, in addition to creating jobs for youths, he said.

During the inauguration of a cement and marble industrial complex in the Upper Egypt governorate of Beni Suef, the president said the project will secure about 2,000 direct jobs and 10,000 indirect jobs.

The marble complex will create 3,000 jobs in Upper Egypt, he added.

BENI SUEF, Egypt, August 15, 2018 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi inaugurated a number of national projects in Beni Suef and Al-Arish on Wednesday. While in Beni Suef, the President inauraged two production lines for cement and granite production in Al-Arish city in North Sinai via video conference.

North Sinai Governor Abdel Fattah Harhour and Director of El Arish complex for cement production Essam Mohamed Abdullah unveiled the commemorative plaque to mark the opening of the two production lines.

Head of the National Services Projects Agency Major General Moustafa Amin made a presentation explaining that the project was set up in line with the comprehensive development plans in Egypt.

It is aimed at supporting housing and reconstruction projects in Egypt, he pointed out.

He further noted that the president urged adding two production lines to Arish cement complex to be four in total.

The Beni Suef and Arish projects are implemented by the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces in cooperation with the Chinese CDI company and the Italian Pedrini company, he added.

Today's projects in Beni Suef and Arish were implemented in only 21 months, he indicated.

Egypt is one of the first countries in the world to produce cement, as the first cement  factory was set up in 1911, he added.

CAIRO, August 15, 2018 (MENA) - Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli underlined that upgrading health and educational services come at the top of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's agenda.

He made the remarks while chairing a ministerial committee on the national project for all-out health insurance.

The ministers of military production, investment, planning, higher education, finance, local development, health and communications attended the meeting.

Madbouli said the comprehensive health insurance project is one of the most important national projects, noting that the ministerial committee will be closely following up the project and removing any obstacles facing it.

Health Minister Hala Zayed said members of the three authorities to be in charge of the project were already selected.

Madbouli gave directives to swiftly secure temporary premises for the three authorities until moving to their permanent premises in the new Administrative Capital.

He underlined the importance of civil societies' contribution to securing good health services in line with President Sisi's directives.

BENI SUEF, Egypt, August 15, 2018 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrived on Wednesday at the industrial complex in the Upper Egyptian governorate of Beni Suef.

The president is scheduled to inaugurate a number of national projects, including a cement and marble industrial complex.

Upon his arrival, the president was received by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Minister of Defence and Military Production Mohamed Zaki, as well as several ministers and senior state officials.
